About Al Kawthar

Our Story is a simple story, but we still can not believe that we have come this far. We started up Al Kawthar in 2010 after we noticed a gap in the market for Khaleeji style abayas and Hijab. We started to explore this new world and now here we are – online and at your service.

Our name Al Kawthar comes from the Sura in the Holy Quran, it is widely believed that surat Alkawthar referred to the daughter of the Prophet (PBUH), Fatima (AS). She was and still is a Symbol of Modesty for the Modest women of the past and present.

Our symbol, the Lilly, came about from Fatima Zahraa. Zahraa means flower, therefore we chose the flower that represents Modesty – the Lilly.
